JOHOR BAHARU, Dec 30 — Johor police are investigating reports that severed pig heads have been found near a mosque today at dawn.
Taman Desa Jaya’s Al-Falah Mosque’s congregants apparently made the discovery when they attended dawn prayers, said Johor police chief Datuk Mokhtar Mohd Shariff to Bernama Online.
A special team, he said under Johor deputy police chief Datuk Ismail Yatim is looking to solve the case.
Mokhtar himself visited the incident site, and urged restraint. He said no one should speculate nor take matters into their own hands.
Mosque committee's chairman, Kassim Darim, 62, said residents also found a bag with pig parts near the mosque’s rear fence at 5pm yesterday.
He said incidents like these have never occurred in the area.
They lodged a report at the Desa Cemerlang Police Station.
